WESTFIELDS LOSE TWO GOAL LEAD

Westfields threw away a superb 2-0 lead in their away MFA league match at Coventry Sphinx last night when after building up a sound 2-0 lead in the opening half an hour they allowed the home side to get back into the game and take the 3 points despite hitting back to give Sphinx a nail-biting last 5 minutes.

Westfields raced into an early lead when Daryl Addis got onto a Sam Harrison throw-in to fire past the Coventry keeper in the 12th minute.

Paul Allam then put Westfields 2-0 ahead when he finished off a fine move after brothers Jamie and Daryl Addis had set up a chance.

Daryl Addis then hit the Coventry post before Ramon Manak hit a low 25 yarder past Jamie Moore to bring the home side back into the game just before the break.

After the interval Coventry scored 3 times in a 10 minute spell when Manak scored within 30 seconds of the interval then he got his hat trick with a volley in the 53rd minute.

Adam Collins put Coventry 4-2 ahead after Daniel Moon had brought down Man of the Match Manak but Westfields forced a third goal through Darryl Addis with a superb chip shot. 

Westfields threw men forward in the dying minutes to gain an equaliser but could not force an equaliser which they did deserve.
