Kington Town1 - Barnett 44
Westfields 5 - Greaves 1, 37, 57, Ongono 10, Jones 78

Attendance 85

Westfields went through to the semi-final of the HFA County Senior Challenge Cup last night with a hard-working away win at West Midland League Division One side Kington Town.

Westfields got off to a dream start when Richard Greaves headed them ahead following good work by Aidan Thomas on the left flank, and then Anderson Ongono shot through a crowded goal-mouth from an acute angle to put Westfields 2 up.

Richard Greaves made it 3 with another good finish before Kington Town were awarded a penalty just before half time but Matt Gwynne in the Westfields goal made a splendid save.

However, right on the stroke of half time Kington pulled a goal back following a goal-mouth scramble when Keanu Barnett stabbed the ball home from close range to reduce the arrears.

However, in an exciting second half Greaves grabbed his hat-trick from close range before Craig Jones volleyed a fifth goal towards the end.

Kington Town had their moments and young winger Oxley was twice thwarted by brilliant saves from Matt Gwynne with one-on-one situations while at the other end Nick Harrhy rattled the Kington woodwork.

A good result for Westfields who now join Lads Club, Pegasus Juniors and Hereford FC in the semi-final.
