ADDIS’ EARLY STRIKE CLINCHES POINTS

Westfields recorded their 3rd MFA away win of the season when they made their first ever visit to Loughborough University and recorded a 1-0 away win to maintain their impressive start to the season and keep themselves up in 7th position in the League table.

The all-important goal came in the 9th minute when lethal striker Daryl Addis grabbed his 19th League and Cup goal of the season in what proved to be the match winner.

However, the real match winner was Westfields’ keeper Jamie Moore who was deputising for Jon Pugh as the Westfields’ keeper was on England duty with the England Blind International team.

Moore, “on loan” from Stourport, produced a string of superb saves to deny the Loughborough University students and secured Westfields’ 8th MFA win of the season to set up next Saturday’s home MFA League game with Studley at allpay.park, kick-off 3pm.

Moore gave a 5-star display to thwart everything the students threw at him and while Westfields had to defend for long periods, the Westfields’ keeper kept a clean sheet and deserved his “Man of the Match” award.
