WESTFIELDS HAMMERED AT HOME

Westfields lost their second consecutive league game when visiting Coleshill Town beat the FA Cup Giantkillers 4-0 at allpay.park on Saturday with a convincing display.

Westfields gave a disappointing display and gifted their visitors with a couple of soft goals especially in the opening minutes when a James Sauntson square pass in the penalty area was gleefully intercepted and put away by Tom Wheale to open the score line.  Westfields had a couple of chances but Aidan Thomas and Ben Miller failed to take advantage as the visitors went in 1-0 at the break.

After the interval Coleshill increased their lead with a free kick from full back Josh Quaynor after Sam Plane had been penalised.

Westfields then gave a 3rd goal away when they failed to clear their lines leaving Tom Fishwick with a clear shot on goal, then late in the game Reece Leek gave the visitors a 4-0 win when again Westfields had given the ball away in the earlier build-up.

FA CUP NEXT

Westfields’ eagerly awaited Emirates FA Cup tie against Curzon Ashton in the First Round Proper will take place at allpay.park on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.  The game will be preceded by Football Focus live from the ground with Dan Walker presenting the BBC football show.

Westfields will also feature on Match of the Day with extended highlights.

Tickets will be on sale all week at allpay.park’s Club House 10am to 2pm and any unsold tickets will be purchased on the day of the game at the club main gate.

“Spectators are advised to come early.  Our gates will be open at 12 noon as we want people to have the enjoyment of the Football Focus show live and be part of it.  Also, parking will be a big issue and we want spectators to have time to park and walk to the ground.  Our own parking facilities will be busy with TV, radio, press and official guests but we will have stewards to make sure we accommodate everyone as close to the ground as possible but if spectators can get dropped off at the ground or share a car this would be a great help to the club and easy access to the ground,” said Andy Morris, Westfields Chief Executive.
