WESTFIELDS SUFFER AGAINST HEANOR
WHO WIN AT THE DOUBLE
Westfields played host last night to Heanor Town who made the long journey to allpay.park and returned home with the 3 points and a league double over Westfields this season.
Westfields were no match for the visiting side and sadly missed their play-maker Craig Jones who was ruled out through injury and this left Westfields with a disappointing result.
In the first half Heanor had made the better of the early chances forcing Alex Harris into 2 brilliant saves although Westfields did have one great opportunity when Kingsford Adjei let fly from the edge of the box and Stuart Pierpoint in the Heanor goal saved at full stretch.
After a goal-less first half the visitors snatched the lead when Sam Mendes made a mistake on the right-hand side which led to the ball coming into the Westfields box and was finished well at the far post by Sam Vickers.
Westfields tried to get back on terms but the Heanor side were rampant and went 2-0 ahead with a clinical finish from the edge of the box before they wrapped up the 3 points with a goal which was gifted them by Alex Harris in the Westfields goal who saw his clearance go straight to the Heanor striker who promptly smacked the ball into the roof of the net to give Heanor a convincing victory.
Westfields now face 5 remaining games with 2 difficult trips, one on Saturday to Long Eaton United and one on Tuesday night when they make the long trip to Shepshed Dynamo. Westfields then return home next Thursday against Shepshed Dynamo and on Saturday 28th April bring the curtain down on their home league matches with a home game against Rugby Town. They then complete their fixtures the following Tuesday, 1st May, when they visit Coventry United.
