WESTFIELDS AWAY IN FA CUP

Westfields have received a tough away tie in the Extra Preliminary Round of the FA Cup on 14th August when they will travel to Boldmere St Michael.

Westfields know Boldmere well as they are both members of the Midland Football Alliance and have met in the League over the past 7 seasons.

“It is a tough tie.  Boldmere are a good strong side and we have met them many times in the MFA and in fairness we have a good record against them.  However the FA Cup is very special and it’s a game we will both be desperately wanting to win” Westfields’ Chief Executive Andy Morris commented.

Last season Westfields beat Boldmere at allpay.park but the Sutton Coldfield based side got their revenge at their ground in their return League game.

In the FA Vase Westfields have been given a home tie with old West Midland League rivals Lye Town in the Second Round Qualifying on 18th September at allpay.park.  Lye Town is a good draw for us.  We have had many good games with Lye over the last 30 years and beat them in the FA Vase 2 seasons ago.  Both teams will be looking to progress so again it’s an attractive Cup tie and we have home advantage which plays a big part.
