New signings to make home debut
Monday, July 26, 2010
Westfields’ manager Sean Edwards has added two more impressive signings to the Westfields’ squad and they are both expected to make their home debuts at allpay.park for Saturday’s attractive home Dennis Hartland Memorial Trophy game with Southern League side Swindon Supermarine, kick-off 3pm. Edwards has prised Robbie Aldridge from Gloucester City and 18 year old Joel Edwards who was released by Hereford United.
Aldridge was previously with Pegasus Juniors before joining Gloucester City and can play at central defence of full back.
18 year old Joel Edwards, who is a talented left back, had very good reports as a youth player at Hereford United.
“Both these players are a tremendous boost to Westfields and our squad is beginning to look very strong as we go into our two home friendlies” said Sean Edwards.
Ironically Swindon Supermarine will have former Westfields’ striker Richard Kear leading its attack on Saturday at allpay.park as the 17 goal striker from last season has moved on from Westfields in the summer to Southern League soccer. “Richard scored some important goals for us last season and deserves his move up the soccer ladder” said Edwards.
Westfields are also at home next Tuesday, 3rd August, against Slimbridge, kick-off 7.45pm at allpay.park.
Proceeds, after expenses, from Saturday’s home Dennis Hartland Trophy match against Swindon Supermarine will go to a local charity.
