Westfields produced a match winning display to record a 3-2 away win at Bradford Town to earn 3 valuable Hellenic League points on Saturday and move back into the play off positions.
It was a welcome result after a 4 match run of defeats had seen them slide down the league table, but this fine away win put them back in the play off positions.
Westfields manager Dan Janes reshuffled the squad and gave youngster Will Dallaway the number 9 shirt and he gave an action packed display with 2 match winning goals.
Dallaway put Westfields ahead in the 10th minute when he chased a through ball and outpaced the home keeper to the ball and ran the ball into an empty net to give Westfields a dream start.
Westfields were playing some quick neat football and Bailey Fuller had a great chance to increase the Westfields lead but he sent his 20 yard effort high over the crossbar.
Bradford Town began to come back into the game and Ben Tilbury headed a goalbound effort from Jaiden Pearce off the goal line, then on 40 minutes Bradford Town drew level when Westfields were punished for not clearing their lines and Leo Galazzi fired in an unstoppable shot past Matt Gwynne for the Bradford Town equaliser.
Westfields came back at the Wiltshire side and regained the lead just before half time when Bailey Fuller crashed home a fierce drive from the edge of the box after Bradford had only half cleared a James Baldwin corner, to put Westfields ahead 2-1 ahead at the interval.
After the break Westfields stretched their lead soon after the restart when Will Dallaway was on the spot to fire home, after a right wing cross was flicked on into his path to give Westfields a 3-1 lead.
In an end to end game Bradford nearly pulled a goal back when Mason Alden went clean through on goal but Matt Gwynne save brilliantly with an outstretched leg.
Westfields were then reduced to to 10 men when Mike McGrath was sin binned for comments made to a linesman and 10 man Westfields were put under pressure by Bradford Town who were fortunate to pull a goal back when Westfields player Reiss Taylor-Randall turned a left wing cross into his own net to cut Westfields lead to 3-2.
Westfields then had a great opportunity to put the game to bed when Bailey Fuller laid on a great chance for substitute Tyrese Sibanda but the youngster saw his goal bound effort well saved by the Bradford Town keeper.
Westfields then sent on teenager Joel Byard for his senior debut and he did well in the later stages of the game as Westfields defended well to preserve their lead and record a much needed 3-2 away league win.
