Cribbs: Joe Davies
Westfields: Ben Tilbury (pen)
Man of the Match: James Baldwin
Westfields missed a great opportunity to record their third consecutive Hellenic League Premier Division win when they were held to a 1-1 draw away at bottom of the table Cribbs.
The Bristol club gained their first point in six games when they held Westfields who wasted a hatful of opportunities with poor finishing.
Westfields dominated possession for long periods of the game and despite good approach work they lacked the final touch in the Cribbs penalty area and chances went begging.
Bailey Fuller had an early opportunity when he played a neat one two with Reiss Taylor- Randle but fired high over the Cribbs bar.
James Baldwin caught the eye with cleaver wing play and on the half hour he sent over a superb cross which Fuller side footed over the bar from 6 yards.
When Cribbs responded Matt Gwynne twice made good saves as the sides went in goalless at the break.
After the interval Cribbs broke the deadlock when Westfields skipper Sean Cooke gave the ball away in his own half and the home side broke clear and after Gwynne had saved the first shot the ball fell to Joe Davies who slammed home Cribbs opening goal within 3 minutes of the restart.
Gwynne then came to Westfields rescue when he tipped a fierce drive from Davies onto the crossbar and the rebound was scrambled to safety.
Westfields continued to be weak in front of goal plus the Cribbs keeper saved brilliantly from Will Dallaway and again from Baldwin.
On the hour Westfields were reduced to 10 men when Mike McGrath was sent off for remarks made to the linesman but this seemed to spur Westfields into action and in the 77th minute Westfields drew level from the penalty spot when Ben Tilbury scored after Dallaway was pushed in the Cribbs penalty box.
Westfields surged forward and Jamie Clarke and substitute Dan Cottrill saw headers saved by the Cribbs keeper.
Westfields had chances in the later stages but their weak finishing in front of goal cost them an away win as they were forced to settle for a 1-1 away draw.
