Man of the Match: Luke Postle
Hallen 3 - Thomas-Barley, Gardiner, Fairman
Westfields 0
Westfields travelled to Bristol and were beaten 3-0 by Hallen who registered only their second Hellenic league win of the season to move out of the bottom two places as Westfields offered little to record their 5th away win of the season.
Westfields display was littered with mistakes and the lowly Hallen side took full advantage of a poor Westfields performance.
Westfields had early opportunities as Bailey Fuller twice had good opportunities from free kicks but they failed to trouble the home defence.
Westfields were in trouble in the 22nd minute when Keeper Shay Sterry brought down the Hallen striker and the referee awarded a penalty which Cory Thomas-Barley tucked away to put Hallen 1-0 ahead.
Westfields almost conceded again just before half time when Elliott Gardiner got free on the right hand side but his low drive flashed wide of the far post.
After the break Hallen increased their lead in the 57th minute when Elliott Gardiner this time made no mistake when he took advantage of of a hesitant Westfields defence to blast the ball home from 12 yards to give Westfields a mountain to climb to get back into the game.
Westfields did respond in search of a goal but could not break down a well organised Hallen defence.
Westfields manager Dan Moon introduced subs Archie Muirhead and Ethan Hayes to try and inject fresh ideas but it was the home side who finished strong when Hallen sprung the Westfields off side trap and substitute Harrison Fairman raced through the Westfields defence to chip the ball over the head of Shay Sterry to give Hallen a 3-0 home win and lift them out of the bottom 2 places with a convincing win over a disappointing Westfields side.
