Pershore Town: Jamie Lucas
Westfields: James Baldwin, Will Dallaway
Man of the Match: Ben Tilbury
Westfields produced one of their best performances of the season when they travelled to Pershore Town and recorded a fine 2-1 away win to give them their first league double of the season from a non stop team performance.
Westfields fully recovered from the disappointment of their FA Vase defeat at Desborough Town on Saturday by producing a much improved display to earn 3 vital league points which kept them in the play off positions.
Westfields opened the scoring early on when skipper Reiss Taylor-Randall created an opening for winger James Baldwin to cut in from the left and fire a low shot into the bottom corner of the net to give Westfields a a perfect start.
Pershore Town hit back and twice Matt Gwynne in the Westfields goal produced important saves to keep Westfields ahead.
Just before the break Westfields should have extended their lead but Bailey Fuller fired high over the Pershore bar from the edge of the area.
After the break Pershore were quick to get back into the game and soon equalised when Jamie Lucas crashed home a chance after a left wing cross found him in space on the edge of Westfields penalty area.
Pershore enjoyed their best period of play and forced a number of dangerous free kicks which Westfields defended well.
Westfields regained the lead when James Baldwin got into a great position on the left flank and delivered a fine cross for Will Dallaway to score from six yards and put Westfields 2-1 ahead.
Pershore hit back again in an exciting end to end game and Matt Gwynne went full length to keep out a stinging drive, then the Westfields keeper did brilliantly to keep out a shot from Jamie Lucas when the Pershore striker was clean through on goal.
At the other end Westfields nearly extended their lead when Tyrese Sibanda hit the Pershore post with a lovely left foot shot as Westfields recorded a fine 2-1 away win from a pulsating Hellenic Premier Division game.
