Westfields travelled to Hellenic League Premier Division Leaders Roman Glass St George on Saturday and were beaten 3-0 by a slick moving home side who included former Westfields club favourite Dan Stoneman and the League Leaders proved too sharp in front of goal as they completed a league double over the Westfields side.

Having beaten Westfields 2-0 at allpay.park earlier in the season Roman Glass got off to a perfect start when Laurent Wilson was left unmarked to volley home a left wing free kick in only the 10th minute.

The League leaders were pressing well in the opening stages and Dan Stoneman put over dangerous crosses which Westfields got clear.

Westfields then had a great chance to equalise when Dan Cottrill seized on a back pass to the Roman Glass keeper and went through on goal but in trying to chip the home keeper his shot was saved easily by Anton Robinson in the home goal.

After the break Westfields began to get into the game and produced some good approach play but no one could finish the crosses that came into the Roman Glass penalty area.

Then in the 60th minute Dan Stoneman  produced an amazing run when he beat 5 Westfields defenders in a 70 yard run to round the Westfields keeper and put the League Leaders into a 2-0 lead.

Five minutes later the game was all over as Roman Glass added a 3rd goal when central defender Loui Ward tucked away a left wing cross to put the game out of Westfields reach.

Westfields however maintained their work rate and Dan Bufton had a goal disallowed for offside then new signing Justice Campbell hit the crossbar with a clever chip shot as Westfields worked hard to stay in the game.
