Westfields travelled to relegation threatened Thornbury Town and had to work very hard to secure an away point when trailing 1-0 at the break they hit back in the second half half to force a 1-1 draw in torrential rain on a heavy pitch.

Westfields had the better of the first half but failed to convert good chances when first Drew Heffernan blasted wide from 12 yards then Cam Davies found himself with a great chance but shot wide from 6 yards out.

Little was seen of the home attack as Westfields dominated the first half and Aidan Clark headed wide when he rose to a Sirdic Grant cross.

Then against the run of play Thornbury opened the scoring just before half time when the Westfields defence should have cleared their lines but Harry Brock seized on the opportunity to beat Jack Oxenham with a crisp finish to give the Thornbury Town side a 1-0 interval lead.

After the break Westfields mounted a waive of attacks and Mackenzie Welsh in the Thornbury goal produced 2 good saves from Lewis Rose and Zac Powell.

Westfields deservedly drew level in the 66th minute after the Thornbury keeper had saved well, the ball was only partially cleared and full back George Clarke was on hand to fire through a ruck of players for the Westfields equaliser.

The game then opened up as both sides went for the winner and Jack Oxenham in the Westfields goal twice reacted smartly to dangerous situations then Cam Davies got in a last ditch tackle as Thornbury stepped up their game.

As the game swung from end to end both sides went close to forcing a winner and Aidan Clark went close with a header then the Westfields wall defended superbly as Thornbury Town forced a last minute free kick which Westfields kept out and settled for a point from a 1-1 away draw.
