Westfields: Cottrill, Dallaway, Douglas
Westfields and visiting Alcester Town served up a 6 goal pre season friendly thriller at Westfields on Tuesday evening when the Warwickshire visitors hit back from being 2-0 down at the break to hit Westfields with 3 second half goals to lead 3-2 only for Westfields to score a dramatic equaliser to end the friendly 3-3.
Westfields dominated the first half and Dan Cottrill put them ahead in the 18th minute and their lead was extended when Will Dallaway scored a fine individual goal to put Westfields 2-0 ahead midway through the first half.
Alcester came back well before the break and twice Matt Gwynne in the Westfields goal excelled with full length saves as Westfields went in 2-0 ahead at the break.
At the break, Westfields made 7 substitutions and Alcester Town took full advantage by taking the game to their advantage by scoring with a rising shot from the edge of the box and moments later they went level 2-2 with a close range finish.
Westfields build up was patient clinical passing but they were caught out when Alcester gained possession and broke away and scored a fantastic 3rd goal with a shot which cannoned in off the far post to take a 3-2 lead.
Westfields pushed forward and forced wave after wave of attacks but Alcester Town cleared a number of dangerous corners and free kicks before Westfields deservedly drew level with the clock ticking down.
Westfields built up a good attack and James Douglas unleashed a fierce drive which flashed into the bottom corner of the net for the Westfield equaliser.
Westfields then put Alcester Town under pressure in a late push for a winner but had to settle for a 3-3 draw after Simon Prangley hit a shot high over the visitors crossbar in the last attack.
