Westfields and Caerau Ely battled out a 3-3 draw in sweltering conditions on Saturday at allpay.park in Westfields first home pre season friendly of the season.
Westfields found themselves a goal down after only 5 minutes when the Welsh League Division one side took a surprise lead but Westfields battled back to draw level through new signing Aidan Clarke.
The visitors then regained the lead before Ethan Hayes scored Westfields equaliser just before the interval. After the break a superb finish by new boy Clarke put Westfields in front for the first time before the Welsh visitors drew level with 10 minutes to play.
Archie Muirhead should have won it for Westfields when he burst through only to see his fierce drive smash against the post. Caerau Ely forced 3 corners late in the game but Westfields defence held firm to record a 3-3 draw in the sweltering conditions.
