Westfields narrowly lost 2-1 to near neighbours Cinderford Town in a Hellenic League Premier Division game at allpay.park last night when former Westfields striker Ryan Hillier grabbed a first half brace to give The Foresters a 2-1 win and a slim chance of making the play offs.

Westfields gave a good account of of themselves but were hit by 2 goals midway in the first half by Ryan Hillier who scored in the 23rd and 27th minutes to give the visitors a 2-0 interval lead.

Westfields came back well in the second half and pulled a goal back on the hour when Fin Waller found the net with an opportunist goal to put Westfields back in the game.

Westfields pressed hard and Archie Muirhead came on as a second half substitute and began to open up the Cinderford defence but the visitors keeper did well to keep Westfields at bay.

Westfields forced a number of late corners and free kicks but Cinderford defence stood firm well marshalled by former Westfields defender Ben Vine who had a fine game for the visitors.
Westfields now go to Cinderford Town on Saturday for the return league match kick off 3pm
