Westfields entertained lowly Cribbs from Bristol and had to settle for a home point after a disappointing performance at allpay.park in a Hellenic League Premier Division game.

Westfields came into the game full of expectations on the back of 2 impressive results but after a bright opening 20 minutes Westfields were unable to break down a hard working Cribbs team who grew in confidence as the game progressed.

Westfields took an early lead through Zac Powell and then should have gone further ahead when on loan striker Luke Postle rounded the Cribbs keeper but shot wide from a tight angle.

Earlier the visitors had hit the Westfields cross  bar and Shay Sterry in the Westfields goal had saved well on a couple of occasions as Westfields went in at the break 1-0 ahead.

Westfields in the second half had a couple of half chances when Aidan Clark had a shot blocked then Cam Davies had a scissors kick effort brilliantly saved by the Cribbs keeper.

The visitors then began to claw their way back into the game and Sterry produced an acrobatic save then Cam Davies headed off the Westfields goal line as Cribbs came in search of a late equaliser.

The Cribbs equaliser came with the last kick of the game when the visitors were awarded a free kick 25 yards out and Cain Scott’s free kick took a wicked deflection into the top corner of the net for the equaliser in the 93rd minute to give Cribbs a valuable point .
