Westfields were well beaten by visiting Droitwich Spa 5-1 at allpay.park as the Worcestershire side completed a comprehensive Hellenic League double over Westfields and cemented their play off place with a tremendous performance.

Westfields were no match for the promotion contenders who raced into a 34th minute lead when ex Westfields winger James Baldwin shot the visitors ahead.

Two minutes later Droitwich had doubled their lead when Cam Davies brought down Alex Dugmore and Ben Tilbury scored from the resulting penalty to give Droitwich a comfortable 2-0 lead at the break.

After the interval Droitwich kept up the pressure on the Westfields defence and Alex Dugmore increased the visitors lead within 5 minutes of the re start.

Westfields were struggling to keep Droitwich at bay and Will Dallaway put the visitors 4-0 ahead with a good finish at the far post.

Little was seen of the Westfields attack as former Westfields defender Jamie Saunston marshalled the Droitwich defence effectively.

It was no surprise when Droitwich extended their lead with a 5th goal as Alex Dugmore got on the end of a left wing cross to score a fine goal at the far post.

Westfields manager Dan Moon brought on all 5 substitutes in an effort to find a goal and Raiyan Ahmed let fly from 25 yards and the ball rocketed into the net to pull a goal back for Westfields.

Droitwich were free flowing and caught Westfields out as Westfields gave away another penalty but this time Ryan Smallwood produced a full length save to prevent Droitwich scoring a 6th goal.

Westfields were glad to hear the final whistle as Droitwich had powered their way to a convincing 5-1 victory.
