Westfields vs Droitwich Spa (2026-10-31)

Westfields took all 3 points in a well earned, hard fought encounter against a very good Droitwich Spa team.

It was Droitwich Spa that started the game strongly, with some well worked attacks but the Westfields defence stood strong and it was Westfields that enjoyed the better of the chances in the first half with Jack Cresswell hitting the bar before Dan Cottrill headed home from a superb delivery from Chris Gregan in the 41st minute.

Westfields extended their lead in the 57th minute when determined work from Dan Cottrill set up James Baldwin who finished with a fantastic curling effort from 25 yards.

A determined Droitwich side worked hard and Alex Dugmore headed home strongly at the far post to reduce the deficit.

The referee awarded a dubious free kick in 79th minute on the edge of the penalty area and Perry Moss placed it in the top corner to level the score with 10 minutes remaining.

Westfields enjoyed some good attacks and when a shot by Bailey Fuller was saved at the near post the ball spun up in the air and the lively Cottrill rose to head the ball across the 6 yard box where Tyrese Sibanda was on hand to put Fields 3-2 up with a simple header.
