Westfields gained revenge on visiting Highworth Town in the Hellenic League Premier Division when they recorded a fine 2-1 home win at allpay.park on Saturday to make amends for the 4-0 defeat they had suffered at Highworth Town earlier in the season.

Westfields had to work hard to achieve their 3 points in a match affected by a strong wind but Westfields stormed into a 2-0 interval lead when in the 24th minute Archie Muirhead volleyed home a right wing cross from Djalo to put Westfields 1-0 ahead.

Ten minutes later Westfields blew their Wiltshire Opponents away with a superb second goal when Fin Jones completed a fine movement to score a tremendous opportunist goal to give Westfields a 2-0 interval lead.

After the break and with the wind to their advantage Highworth got into the game in search of a come back and on the hour were awarded a penalty when Westfields defender Brandon Jennings brought down Otis Lewis and from the resulting penalty kick Westfields keeper Ryan Smallwood produced a flying save to maintain Westfields lead.

Highworth were causing the Westfields defence a few anxious moments and Smallwood did well to tip a Lewis shot over the bar and then Otis Lewis beat Smallwood in the Westfields goal only to see the ball cannon off the cross bar.

It came as no surprise when Highworth eventually pulled a goal back in the 80th minute, when the lively Otis Lewis beat Smallwood in the Westfields goal with a rising shot from 25 yards.

This signalled attack after attack by Highworth in search of an equaliser but Smallwood did well in the Westfields goal with a fine save as the Westfields defence stood firm to keep the visitors at bay and record a fine  2-1 league win.
