Malvern Town 4 - Hayes 2, Walton, Tumulty

Westfields and Malvern served up a highly entertaining and competitive pre season friendly when the two sides met at allpay park.

Malvern included former Westfields players Ben Hayes and Joe Tumulty and they both featured well and got 3 of the 4 goals between them in a devastating first half performance when Malvern raced into a 4-0 lead before Westfields pulled 2 goals back before the break.

Malvern only took 5 minutes to open the scoring when along throw in, was not dealt with by the Westfields defence and Ben Hayes blasted the ball home at the far post.

Five minutes later Malvern doubled their score from close range, then Joe Tumulty blasted home a tremendous goal from the edge of the box to put Malvern 3-0 ahead and Ben Hayes grabbed his second with only 30 minutes on the clock as Malvern ran riot.

Westfields then began to find their rhythm and Aidan Clark scored a fine individual goal and just on half time Clark set up a chance foe Ethan Hayes to make the score line respectable with a lovely finish as the sides went in 4-2 in Malverns favour at the interval.

After the interval both clubs changed their lineups and Westfields introduced Kane Kahaki into the heart of the defence and this tightened up the defence against a lively Malvern attack.

Shay Sterry saved brilliantly by tipping a shot over the bar and Cam Davies twice made great saving tackles to prevent Malvern extending their lead in an end to end second half when defences were on top for both sides to prevent any further goals as Malvern ran out comfortable winners.
