Westfields: Tyrese Sibanda 2
Stone Old Alleynians: Jason Ukatu
Man of the Match: Will Dallaway
Westfields went through to the first round proper of the FA Vase with an impressive 2-1 home win over Stone Old Alleynians at allpay.park when two second half goals from striker Tyrese Sibanda secured Westfields passage into the next round over the Staffordshire visitors.
Westfields edged the opening first half with both wingers Yuri Quintas and James Baldwin catching the eye with good service into the penalty areas.
Westfields keeper Lewis Adams twice had to be alert to dangerous crosses and defender Ben Tilbury made a last ditch tackle to keep the scores level at the break as Stone Old Alleynians came back.
Then on the stroke of half time Stone striker Jack Tomlinson was in collision with an advertising board and sustained a nasty injury and the game was held up for 30 minutes while the emergency services were called and he was taken to hospital.
After the break Westfields broke the deadlock in the 55th minute when Tyrese Sibanda fired low into the corner of the net from 12 yards after a swift moving Westfields attack and within 8 minutes Westfields doubled their lead when Sibanda was on the spot again to make it 2-0 with another clinical finish.
The big young striker should have got his hat trick when an inviting cross came in at the far post but Sibanda just failed to get on the end of it.
Back came Stone and they should have pulled a goal back when Jack Bowater went through on goal but Westfields keeper Lewis Adams spread well to smother the shot.
The visitors kept themselves in the game when substitute Jason Ukatu took advantage of a good opening to reduce the score line and give a chance to Stone but Adams then tipped a shot over the bar and in the dying minutes.
Westfields nearly increased their lead when substitute Jamie Clarke was through on goal but his first time shot was brilliantly saved by the Stone keeper as Westfields settled for a 2-1 win and a passage through to the first round proper of the F A Vase.
