Westfields vs Stourport Swifts (2026-09-29)

Westfields were beaten 4-2 at allpay.park by visiting Stourport Swifts who played for an hour with 10 men.

This was Westfields 4th consecutive Hellenic League defeat and again it was a disappointing home performance as Westfields again failed to convert good opportunities leaving them with 6 league defeats and 6 league wins from their opening 12 league games.

Stourport were quick out the blocks and raced into a 2-0 lead with only 15 minutes on the clock as Westfields again failed to defend with authority as Joe Hull and Louis Monaghan put the visitors into an early lead.

Westfields hit back and Tyrese Sibanda pulled a goal back in the 25th minute for Westfields then Stourport suffered a huge blow when Adam Willis was sent off for a rash challenge on Sean Cooke the Westfields fullback shortly before the break

Westfields opened the second half well and Jamie Baldwin put in a stream of crosses but Sibanda headed wide and Josh Murtagh in the Stourport goal saved well on a couple of occasions.

Westfields were then hit on the counter attack as Stourport broke away to increase their lead to 3-1 when Jake Cooper scored a fine goal.

Westfields kept in the game when Ben Tilbury scored from the penalty spot after Reiss Taylor - Randle was brought down in the area .

Westfields pressed for an equaliser and Murtagh in Stourport goal produced the save of the match at the foot of the post to keep out a Tyrese Sibanda goalbound effort.

With 10 man Stourport hanging onto their 3-2 lead Westfields went all out for an equaliser but Stourport received a last minute boost when substitute Ethan Peer broke away to score a gift 4th goal for the 10 man visitors and leave Westfields with their 4th consecutive league defeat.
