Westfields vs Thornbury Town (2026-08-22)

Westfields went clear at the top of the Hellenic League Premier Division with an emphatic 5-0 home win over visiting Thornbury Town at Allpay.park.

Westfields were outstanding in a superb first half performance when they gave their best 45 minutes of the season with some attractive football.

Westfields opened the scoring on 13 minutes when Will Dallaway out jumped the Thornbury defence to head home a powerful header from a Bailey Fuller corner.

Westfields were full of confidence and some lovely flowing football ended with Tyrese Sibanda cracking home a clinical finish to put Westfields 2-0 ahead in the 19th minute.

Little was seen of the Thornbury attack as Westfields moved into a 3-0 lead when Will Dallaway chipped a 25 yarder over the Thornbury keeper.

In a pulsating first half performance Westfields made it 4-0 just before the break when Tyrese Sibanda headed home at the far post following a long throw in by Joe Hunt to send Westfields into a comfortable half time lead.

After the break Thornbury came more into the game but could not break down Westfields strong defence and it came as no surprise when Westfields increased their lead to 5-0 when Reiss Taylor-Randle swept home a right wing cross from Yuri Quintas.

Westfields manager Dan Janes sent on 4 substitutes to  maintain the tempo and Thornbury defended well as Westfields maintained their dominance of the game
