Westfields fell at the first hurdle in the FA Vase Away at North West Counties League side Wolverhampton Sporting Club.
Westfields battled well but could not break down a very well organised home side in which skipper Vaughan was outstanding.
Westfields battled well but were fortunate in the early stages as Jack Oxenham in the Westfields goal produced 2 brilliant saves while at the other end the Wolverhampton keeper saved at the foot of the post from Bailey Fuller.
After a goalless first half Wolverhampton snatched a 50th minute lead with a clinical finish to present Westfields with an uphill task.
Westfields put Wolverhampton under continual pressure which the home side defended superbly as Westfields forced 10 second half corners which were well defended by the home side.
Westfields sent on subs Lewis Rose and Jamie Clark in an effort to pull level but could not break through a resilient Wolverhampton defence, as Westfields bowed out of the FA Vase with a hard working display.
