Man of the Match: Zac Powell
Worcester Raiders 2 - Fuller, Prince
Westfields 0
Westfields travelled to Worcester Raiders on Saturday and suffered a 2-0 Hellenic Premier Division defeat when the Worcester side got revenge for the 3-0 defeat they suffered at allpay.park earlier in the season.
Westfields enjoyed the better of the opening half but found Charlie Emery in the Raiders goal in superb form as he made full length saves from Aidan Clark and Zac Powell.
Former Westfields winger Bailey Fuller was dangerous on the break for the Raiders but the two sides went in at the break thanks to a superb display by Emery in the Raiders goal.
After the break Raiders got into the game and broke the deadlock when former Westfields winger Bailey Fuller scored a fine goal in the 63rd minute when he swept home a left foot shot to give the title chasers the lead.
Westfields came back at the home side and substitute Jamie Clark was brought down when through on goal by the home keeper Charlie Emery as the Westfields striker seemed certain to equalise. Raiders keeper was instantly red carded but Westfields wasted the free kick from the edge of the box when Justice Campbell fired into the Raiders wall.
Westfields threw men forward to try and force an equaliser and Manager Dan Moon used 4 substitutions to try and freshen things up against the 10 man Raiders who defended well and in the 87th minute they caught Westfields on the counter attack when Prince Henry finished a break away with a superb low shot to put the result beyond doubt with a a fierce drive into the bottom corner of the net to put Worcester Raiders 2-0 in front.
Westfields pushed forward but Worcester raiders big defence stood firm to go third in the table and leave Westfields with a disappointing defeat.
Next Saturday 7 February Westfields visit basement club Cribbs for an important Hellenic League Premier Division game kick off 3pm in Bristol
