Fields launched its 60th Anniversary celebrations in unforgettable style with a spectacular three‑day Weekender at Allpay Park, a showcase of community spirit, entertainment, footballing heritage, and the tireless work of the club’s volunteers and committee.
Friday Night: Comedy, Conversation & Club Spirit in the Marquee
The festivities began on Friday 8th May, when more than 200 guests filled the marquee for an evening of laughter and storytelling. The club was privileged to welcome former Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Mark Crossley and award‑winning comedian Nick Page, who delivered a brilliant mix of football tales, humour, and crowd interaction.
The evening was proudly sponsored by Border Office Supplies and Humfrys & Symonds, whose continued support helped create a professional, memorable opening night for the Weekender.
Saturday: A Full Day of Presentations, Pride & Live Music
Saturday belonged to the future of the club — the Junior Section. From morning through late afternoon, players, parents, and coaches came together for a full presentation day celebrating effort, development, and achievement across all age groups.
As day turned to evening, the focus shifted to the Senior Awards Night, where the first team, development squad, and senior players gathered to honour standout performances from the 2025/26 season.
A special mention must go to the Women’s Team, who arrived in fantastic numbers — dressed up, full of energy, and absolutely ready to celebrate their season together. Their presence added colour, personality, and a real sense of unity to the evening.
The celebrations continued long into the night with live entertainment from The Road Knights, who kept the marquee bouncing with a brilliant set enjoyed by players, staff, and supporters alike.
Sunday: A Historic Fixture — Fields Heroes vs Manchester United Legends
The Weekender reached its pinnacle on Sunday as we welcomed a Manchester United Legends XI to Allpay Park, a fixture that will live long in the memory of everyone who witnessed it.
A crowd of over 1,600 supporters packed into the ground, creating one of the most vibrant atmospheres in the club’s history. The match delivered everything the occasion promised: goals, nostalgia, entertainment, and a dramatic finish as the game ended 4–4, perfectly capturing the spirit of the day.
The fixture was generously sponsored by Burnendo.com, with the Hereford Branch of the Manchester United Supporters Club hosting their guests in the Airband Executive Suite, adding prestige and hospitality to a truly special event.
